Our new group is a combination of Beavers and Cubs. As our numbers grow we shall introduce the groups:

Beavers : for anyone aged 6 – 8 who wants to try new things and make friends

Cubs : for anyone aged 8 – ten and a half looking for adventure and to master new skills

The Benefits of Joining the Scouts

There are several benefits to joining the 14th Southall Scout Group that often can’t be gained from school alone; here are just a few…

  • You meet new people and make new friends
  • Your self confidence grows by learning new skills
  • Develop a sense of achievement as you work towards getting the different badges
  • Reap the rewards from working as a team
  • Learn how to make decisions while having to think about other people’s points of view.

Interested? Ring or email Karen for more information. We look forward to seeing you all.

Do your children want to learn how to play chess? Enrol them in the Southall Junior Chess Club and watch them develop their creative thinking skills.

Thursdays

6 – 7.30pm

6 June – 18 July

Fees : £15 per session (discounts available if you book a block of sessions in advance)

Through chess, we learn how to analyze a situation by focusing on important factors and by eliminating distractions. We learn to devise creative solutions and put a plan into action. During the session we cover the following topics

  • Opening
  • Tactics
  • Endgame Study

We practise games and conduct game analysis.

The club is suitable for anyone aged between 6 and 15.

We welcome all levels.

The club is led by Amadeusz who runs Southall Chess Club. To find out more about the club and to become a member, please visit their website.
